To support learning at home
Our curriculum framework is based on 3 key principles:
The ‘Head’ of our curriculum – empowering knowledge so our young people can join in and contribute.
The ‘Heart’ of our curriculum – experiences and situations focusing on developing young people who will enter the adult world as respectful, tolerant, valued, confident and independent young people with resilience and ambition.
The ‘Hand’ of our curriculum – promoting creativity and problem solving to ensure students play an active part.
We have listened to our families and improved our home learning offer this time around.
We will continue to deliver personalised packs of learning activities and resources to your door.
To support online learning we recommend these quality links:
At Abbey Hill Academy we understand the importance of connection and relationships. We are keen for students to embrace the world of virtual learning in a safe and supported way. Tutors will provide short daily sessions on TEAMS which is a Microsoft virtual meeting tool. This will help keep us all connected during this period of isolation. It will be an opportunity for your child to speak with friends and take part in a short group activity each day at a set time, supported by the class tutor. They will be able to access these sessions through their school email account. Guides on how to set this up at home have been included in your home learning packs.
We would love to see photos of your home learning achievements. You can share with us by emailing abbeyhill.homelearning@horizonstrust.org.uk and we will tweet your success.
